The Margaret Pearl Adventure- Part 4, The Haul Out
Many of you would know of Jim Woods and his magnificently restored Cray Boat The MARGARET PEARL. Next year Jim is planning a serious adventure with his Tasmanian vessel, attending the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart and then taking her north, up the full length of the East Coast of Australia and on to explore the remote islands of the Louisiade Archipelago in eastern Papua New Guinea.
Jim has kindly offered to take us with him on the journey, by producing a series of short reels explaining the concept, the preparation and hopefully the execution of what should be an memorable adventure.
In Part Four Jim takes the boat through a nasty little Port Philip squall from St Kilda to Martha’s Cove for a haul out and to work on the extensive maintenance list.
