The Margaret Pearl Adventure- Part 2, Painting and Preparing

Many of you would know of Jim Woods and his magnificently restored Cray Boat The MARGARET PEARL. Next year Jim is planning a serious adventure with his Tasmanian vessel, attending the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart and then taking her north, up the full length of the East Coast of Australia and on to explore the remote islands of the Louisiade Archipelago in eastern Papua New Guinea.

Jim has kindly offered to take us with him on the journey, by producing a series of short reels explaining the concept, the preparation and hopefully the execution of what should be an memorable adventure.

In Part Two Jim covers some of the preparation of Margaret Pearl for the trip. As he was on board recording the footage that follows, he moved a sail bag on the deck which bumped a bucket which knocked over the tripod on which his mobile phone was mounted which fell onto the rail of Margaret Pearl and ejected the mobile phone from its Mount into about 4 m of water in the berth at St Kilda. The whole scene was very reminiscent of the game of mousetrap
